Transient Labs July Newsletter

We ship. We showcase. In this update - we’ll highlight new features in The Lab and a shiny new dApp for our 7160 creations, along with a number of creator releases and partnerships.

We're committed to building in public, so we will always share our latest updates and enhancements. This sprint focused on improving the user experience and introducing new features, such as the ERC-7160 dApp directly on token pages.

Major Enhancements

  • Inclusive Mint Mechanics for 1155 Editions: Inclusive Mints are open indefinitely until the creator closes them.

  • Coinbase Smart Wallet Support: The Lab now fully supports Coinbase Smart Wallets, making onboarding a breeze.

  • Stacks Mint Pages Settings: Stacks Mint Page settings allow creators to change their mint pages and mint details after publication.

  • ERC-7160 Token Pages: We've rolled out LaunchPad support for all ERC-7160 tokens, also known as Multi-Creation tokens. Collectors can now easily view all token creations and pin their desired creation right from the token page. Example: Rio Art Residency utilizes ERC-7160 to showcase 20 token creations.

  • Collection Information on Token Pages: Token pages now include Collection Information such as links to the contract address, token ID metadata, and edition count for 1155 tokens. This provides collectors with comprehensive details at a glance.

  • Homepage Improvements: We've resolved homepage loading and latency issues, ensuring a faster and smoother browsing experience.

  • Token Creation Flow: The token creation user experience (UX) has been redesigned for simplicity. The new flow includes better media uploading and previews. The mint recipient UX within The Lab has been revised for all contract types to reduce confusion for creators.

Other Updates

  • LaunchPad Content Pages: Set up basic article pages in LaunchPad, pulled from our Content CMS.

  • Stacks Prices Bug: A bug affecting Stacks Mint Pages prices with long decimals has been fixed, ensuring accurate and consistent pricing.

  • Media Support: Added support for AR media in token pages and carousels.

  • UI Tweaks: Refactored carousel CSS to prevent overflow and used SlideShow in stack previews.

  • Miscellaneous Fixes: Fixed minor issues and made style tweaks to improve the overall user experience.

Collaborations

The Rio Art Residency Drop (website) featured 19 artists in a single token. This week-long residency took place in Rio de Janeiro in June 2024 and marked the first official event of the Selkie Collection. It brought together established and emerging contemporary artists from Brazil, the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Turkey, and the Dominican Republic. Utilizing the ERC-7160 Multi-Creation Token standard, the drop allowed all 19 creations to be featured in the same token. Collectors who purchased a token received a gallery with all 19 art pieces, and they can change the face of the token to display their favorite pieces at any time. Featured artists include Alimo, Mateu, Velasco, Efdot, Rebecca Rose, MUMBOT, Ottis Ots, Rachel ST Wood, Luciana Guerra, Wizard James, David Moriarty, Luko, SirenAi, Sarkis, Carlos Aquino, Cameron Smith, Daniel, Tucci, André Dahmer, DrainedEye, Foodmasku.

Inclusive Mints are open editions with no time limits, offering unlimited creativity, accessibility, and flexibility for artists. To celebrate the launch of inclusive editions in The Lab, we curated incredible drops from Lore, Kungfuhavestyle, and Nuclear Samurai. Collect now for $6.

Transient Labs x ArtVerse’s Tommy Hollenstein & Foodmasku Duo Exhibition in Paris: We’ve partnered with ArtVerse Paris for a special duo exhibition featuring the works of Tommy Hollenstein and Foodmasku. From July 25 to September 8, 2024, during the Olympics and Paralympics, their art will reinterpret the Olympic spirit in Paris. Tommy Hollenstein, an American abstract impressionist painter, creates unique textures using the wheels of his wheelchair. Foodmasku, a multimedia artist from New York, explores themes of nutrition and culture through edible masks. Each artwork in the exhibition features a digital Certificate of Authenticity powered by T.R.A.C.E., ensuring secure, immutable records of authenticity and provenance.

Trevor Jones utilized the ERC-7160 contract standard (Multi-Creation Tokens) for his Archangels drop. Every collector received a bundle of digital assets alongside the physical bronze sculpture. Trevor used ERC-7160 to create this bundle, which includes a PFP version, Square PFP, and GLB file!

Patric Ortmann’s ‘SE•E•DS’ is a series of 2 1/1s inspired by nature built on the ERC-7160 contract and available on MakersPlace. In the end, you get three unique artworks in one token.

These colors are transferred back into the grid as large pixels, utilizing each of the 16,384 diodes on the artwork. Collectors receive both a 4K MP4 and a 128x128px GIF of the artwork, with a new generative variation added upon minting.
