Product Updates:

This month, we’ve introduced exciting new tools and features to make creating, collecting, and collaborating easier and more rewarding. From the launch of our Transient Dot Fun ecosystem to big upgrades in The Lab and LaunchPad, there’s a lot to dive into. Check out fresh app releases like the Dynamic Art Engine, discover how the Shape L2 gives back to creators with every interaction, and see how we’re simplifying on-chain agreements for everyone.

Welcome back to Transient.Fun, where we’re experimenting with some seriously cool tools and experiences. Think of this as your backstage pass to the latest, most creative apps we’re rolling out. Whether you’re here to have fun, build something new, or just explore, we have something for you.

Prize Dot Fun: In October, we launched the $10,000 Dot Fun Prize, calling for the community's best app ideas to join our Dot Fun dApp ecosystem. Our winner? Matt Scobel with ArtGuessr! Inspired by GeoGuessr, ArtGuessr challenges players to identify key details about random artworks—like mint date and artist—earning points to climb global leaderboards. This interactive game offers artists an exciting way to spotlight their work while collectors and art lovers compete, learn, and explore on-chain art like never before. Congratulations, Matt; we can’t wait to build this with you!

Handshake 🤝is our latest tool for creating, signing, and tracking on-chain agreements, making collaborations simpler, transparent, and fully decentralized. Whether you’re an artist documenting a partnership, setting up service agreements, or making friendly NFT price bets, Handshake lets you connect your wallet, outline terms, and invite collaborators securely on-chain.

The Dynamic Art Engine (DAE): Imagine if your art could evolve, react, or tell a story in real-time—that's what the Dynamic Art Engine (DAE) brings to the table. Designed as a no-code toolkit, DAE empowers creators to make art that changes over time, responds to interactions, or even reflects real-world events, all without a single line of code. With eight customizable "Recipes" (templates) and more on the way, the possibilities are limitless. Whether it’s a scene that shifts with light, an artwork that transforms throughout the day, or interactive pieces that invite viewers to engage, DAE is here to elevate what art can do.

The Lab

Big news! The Lab & Transient.xyz have officially merged, creating a streamlined, unified space for artists and collectors alike. And with the Open Beta now live, there’s no need for invite codes—just head over to Transient.xyz, connect your wallet, set up your account, and dive in.

We’re also thrilled to support Shape, the pro-creator Layer 2 (L2) blockchain now fully integrated into The Lab & Handshake. Shape is built specifically with creators in mind, rewarding contract owners with gas-back whenever someone interacts with their NFTs—yes, creators receive a portion of the fees!

LaunchPad

LaunchPad (aka Transient.xyz) is our discoverability platform and a space where collectors can mint art, inscribe stories, read stories, and interact with their 7160 tokens. Here’s what’s new and improved:

  • Cross-Chain Payment Support: You can collect art on any chain with supported crypto options, starting with Base, Arbitrum, and Ethereum.

  • ISP Access Fix: We’ve implemented a workaround for ISPs blocking content, ensuring artists and collectors can view work on Transient Labs without interruption.

  • Enhanced Collector Info: Collector addresses are now added to token pages, allowing easier access to relevant collector details.

  • Chain Filters for Easy Exploration: A new chain filter has been added to Browse All pages, enabling collectors to explore by Shape or other chains.

  • Revised Mint Page Language: To avoid any confusion, we’ve replaced all "Stacks" language with "Mint Pages" across our ecostsem.

  • Wallets on User Profiles: User profile pages now display wallet addresses that can be copied with a single click, simplifying interaction.

  • Streamlined Countdown Timer: Countdown timers are hidden if they’re more than a month out, reducing on-page clutter.

Sneak Peeks:

DeeKay’s DeePles Halloween Item Special Release: Just in time for Halloween, DeeKay created a special item release of fifteen new headwear traits for DeePles! Get spooky with themed items like pumpkin heads, witch hats, ghosts, zombies, skulls, a mushroom hat, and a Groot-inspired piece. Available for a limited time at https://deeple.xyz/!

Rich Caldwell’s CANVAS: Mark your calendars for November 7, 2024! Rich Caldwell is bringing his stunning aerial photography to life in a whole new way with CANVAS, a generative art project powered by the Dynamic Art Engine. Inspired by the idea that Earth is the ultimate canvas, Rich has spent years capturing the beauty and patterns of everyday scenes with his lens. Using the Dynamic Art Engine, he’s created CANVAS as his first solo generative collection, blending thousands of unique outputs with his signature photography.

This drop, limited to 500 unique pieces, will launch in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (November 7): 24-hour Aerial Art supporters allowlist period with a reduced mint price of 0.069 ETH, limited to 10 per wallet

  • Phase 2 (November 8): Public sale at 0.085 ETH

With categories and carefully curated patterns, CANVAS promises to be more than just art—it’s a personal exploration of the amazing view only found when viewing Earth from above, now experienced generatively. Stay tuned for the release, and get ready to see the world from Rich’s perspective!

Egodead’s The Collective Consciousness: Launching November 14, 2024, Egodead’s newest collection fuses digital and physical art in a unique 1/1/30 drop. Each NFT comes with a corresponding physical tile from Egodead’s expansive abstract canvas, where collectors can own a distinct piece of the larger artwork digitally and physically. Each of the 30 tiles features unique text, hidden easter eggs, and hints of "rarity" that add layers of intrigue. Built on the Multi-Creation Token (ERC-7160) contract and enhanced with the Dynamic Art Engine, this project invites collectors to interact and explore the concept of “death of the ego” through their tiles. The result is an interactive experience, true to Egodead’s name and vision. Stay tuned for more!

Latest Collaborations:

‘DeePles’ by DeeKay

DeePles combines DeeKay’s artistry with next-level personalization, creating an avatar experience like no other. Built on the Shape chain, this evolving project allows you to fully customize your digital identity with unique items, each as its own NFT, so you can equip, unequip, and even trade on secondary markets. The first 500 avatars launched earlier this month, with more releases and exclusive item drops planned for the future.

On the technical side, DeePles pushed the boundaries of what we have done. The layering system is not just a simple pfp-style generator where there are 8 layers to deal with, rather, there are 27 possible layers! We also had to build a custom contract system that handles securely updating metadata + escrowing the items that you attach to each DeePle. This means that items equipped to your DeePle are transferred with the DeePle when you sell it. We’ll be posting more details about how it all works soon!

‘Postino’ by Chikai

Postino reimagines the classic stamp for the Web3 era, making it more than just a collectible—it’s a way to tell stories, capture memories, and spark creativity. Inspired by the rich history of stamps as symbols of culture and connection, Postino lets users create, mint, and collect digital stamps, each generated with a unique AI-driven prompt. From “a cosmic sushi roll” to “Bitcoin to the moon,” you bring the idea, and Postino brings it to life, complete with a digital postmark from your location.

Creating a Postino stamp is easy and open to everyone, not just artists. Just visit Postino.ai, type in your prompt, and watch your custom stamp come to life. You can mint, gift, trade, and share these stamps! Low-cost and endlessly customizable, Postino is here to make stamps relevant, fun, and collectible again—so get inspired and turn your favorite ideas into digital keepsakes!

My Land, 1896’ by Yatreda

In our collaboration with Yatreda, we tackled a unique challenge: bringing an extensive 100MB video fully on-chain while ensuring it remains future-proof and compatible with existing platforms. My Land, 1896 utilizes a new hybrid storage solution, blending IPFS and on-chain storage for durability and accessibility.

The NFT’s metadata lives on IPFS for fast loading and Web2 compatibility, while the video, thumbnail, and metadata are stored in chunks on-chain via event logs. This method preserves the work permanently on the blockchain, offering collectors peace of mind that the asset will remain accessible indefinitely. If the IPFS link is ever lost, collectors can even reassemble the NFT by retrieving each chunk from the blockchain. Our new protocol cuts on-chain storage costs by 86% and overcomes the technical limits of large file storage, paving the way for future large-scale on-chain art projects.

We supported Béatrice Epure and David Gould, two Lumen Prize winners, as they brought their works to the auction stage with Sotheby’s! Béatrice’s series, The Big Smoke, was minted as a single ERC-7160 token, allowing one collector to own all 19 unique images. Meanwhile, David launched his genesis piece, Skirmish, using an ERC-721TL contract. Both artists used T.R.A.C.E. to authenticate and secure the provenance of their physical pieces onchain, adding integrity and traceability to their work.
